A 40 year legacy
WDR has a 40 year history of business activities. Today, our core services lay in the designing, managing and supporting of all kinds of learning and development solutions. We are dedicated to providing expert, efficient and innovative learning services and our commitment to customer care is backed up by a strong and highly-skilled account management team.
The historic activity of the business progressively
moved from mainframe software development in the 1970s towards
training and learning solutions; first with the provision of IT
training which later encompassed a wide range and variety of
learning and development solutions for a number of national and
international clients. Software Development remains a
business area for WDR, however the development and provision of
leading edge Training and Learning Solutions continues to grow as
the leading business area for WDR.
1970 - Two senior ex-IBM executives, one
British, one American, formed WDR. Initially WDR's focus lay in
Software Development. WDR developed various operating utilities
that were adopted by numerous large banks.
Considered as an important IBM 'out-post', throughout the 1970s,
alongside it's software development WDR provided extensive
'manufacturer independent' education and consultancy and for that
became world renowned.
1971 - WDR's 1st IBM Training Course held.
1985/86 - New WDR Training Centre built
as they celebrate 25th Anniversary.
The early 1990s presented WDR with the most significant of
challenges as the IBM Market fell away and the Microsoft market
emerged.
1993 - It was at this point that WDR began to pioneer the concept of Managed Learning Services. WDR's unique blend of technology and training skills provided a powerful platform to launch dynamic learning solutions to our client base.
1995 - WDR's Learning Management System (LMS) launched.
1999 - WDR Awarded Microsoft Certified Partner Status.
2005 - WDR Awarded Microsoft Gold Partner Status.
2010 - WDR celebrates 40th
Anniversary.
Today, WDR's core services are learning management and development,
software and consultancy. WDR supports a prestigious international
client base spanning a variety of sectors
and markets.
