Sussex based Learning & Development Consultancy, WDR, hold fascinating double-topic Forum: "Social Media for Informal Learning" & "The Wellbeing Agenda"

WDR, a Horsham based leading provider of training and consultancy, held a forum morning on Wednesday 30th June, offering presentations from two sets of guest speakers on two significant topics in Learning and Development today.  Speaking at the event was Jane Hart, Social Learning Expert and Founder of the Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies.  WDR were also joined by Tracey Lee-Delaney and Breckon Jones from American Express to present a piece on the company's successful Healthy Living campaign.  WDR invited a number of Learning & Development representatives from a wide range of business sectors in the South Eastto join the debate.  Attendees included representatives from local government, travel, airline, retail and catering industries.  Both sets of speakers discussed thought provoking subjects.  Jane Hart captured the importance of Social Media such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, in a fascinating presentation, encouraging the audience to think about the use of such mediums as part of their learning programmes within their organisations.

The American Express speakers took the audience on a colourful and motivating journey into the company's Healthy Living Campaign and shared the company's inspiration, concerns and success.  This topic was close to the hearts of many needing guidance on how to begin similar campaigns within their own business, as well as those who were looking to enhance similar programmes that are currently running.  A key message from this section was the importance of Healthy Living for people development and ultimately the development of organisations as a whole.

Christina Dennis, Director at WDR commented on the morning event:  "Many attendees were amazed and inspired by the amount of information on offer from both sets of speakers.  There were some great discussions following both presentations.  As a learning and development consultancy we strive to bring new and exciting topics such as these to our events.  It was a real success."
